Library Card Policy *UPDATE*
As of January 1, 2017 our policy is to require patrons to present a library card in order to check out materials. We will be happy to hold your items for you if you have forgotten your library card, or you may replace your card for $3.00. This policy is to protect patron's privacy. Other libraries may have different policies.
- First library cards are issued free of charge.
- To apply for a library card, all that is necessary is proof of your current address.
- A $3.00 fee is charged for a lost card.
- Keychain cards are also available.
- Those under 16 years of age must have a parent/legal guardian present.
Number of Items Allowed
Members may borrow up to 15 items at one time on each card. There is a limit of 2 DVDs per household.
The loan period for all items except feature film videos and DVDs is 14 days. The loan period for feature film videos and DVDs is 3 days.
Fines are $0.20 per day for all items except feature film videos and DVDs. The fine rate for DVDs is $2.00 per day. Fines are not charged on any items for days the Library is closed. The maximum fine for any item is $10.

All items may be renewed by phone in person or online up to 3 times providing that they are not overdue on reserve and that no outstanding fines or fees are owed by an individual or an individual responsible for a juvenile patron.
Items become overdue at closing time on their due date. Every day at closing time all items not yet returned but due that day are considered overdue. If the item is put in the book drop after the library has closed for the day the item will not be checked in until the next day making the item one day late. Fines do not accumulate on days the library is closed.
Privacy of Library Records Policy
The Library specifically recognizes the confidentiality of records related to circulation of Library materials that contain the names or other personally identifying details regarding the users of the in accordance with Pennsylvania law, which states:
Records related to the circulation of library materials which contain the names or other personally identifying details regarding the users of the State Library or any local library which is established or maintained under any law of the Commonwealth of the library of any university, college or education institution chartered by the Commonwealth or the library of any public school or branch reading room, deposit station or agency operated in connection therewith, shall be confidential and shall not be made available to anyone except by a court order in a criminal proceeding.
